The Republic

After the death of his son, Edmund Boom gave up on life and all things that mattered. On this fateful day he meets the son of a drunkard friend, a young man in desperate need of a father figure, and rediscoveries his worth. It is a straight-forward journey.

The Republic is a tragicomedy designed to capture the zeitgeist of the day. It turns on the philosophical musings that kindness leads to happiness – kindness toward each other and kindness to the very thing that supports life itself.

Its true meaning – what it is REALLY about – is why it will have mass appeal.
